The strange case of corporate managers

Having a couple of years of experience in the corporate has led me to meet and work under many managers. I admire a lot of their qualities but this section is not for that. I have come across some strange scenarios and crazy scenes I never thought were possible. Check this out:

One day my manager from the US organised a call for me and my colleague. He had attached a presentation in the meeting set-up mail for us to go through.

He asked us at the start of the meeting, "So who is sharing the screen?" OK, things were fine till now, right? Not for long. I thought my colleague would share because he's really active in these meetings but he asked me to share. And if you know me, I get straightforward. Sometimes to the greater extent. This time, I replied to my manager, "Yes, you can share the screen."

OH MYY GOD. Yup I just said that!
Damn.

And he paused. My colleague paused. And I paused. No one said anything for few seconds. The silence was deadening. I realised I needed to say something if I had to ease out the situation. And I began by explaining my reasoning.

I told him that since he had to explain the ppt, it's better if he shared it and navigated it freely.

Anyway, my manager was calm and didn't say anything. Ofcourse, what could he. I made him speechless. Probably no other employees ask back their managers to share screen themselves.

"Too bad Nishant", I said to myself. This definitely was not the place to show your strange straightforwardness.

This was one of the tales.
Will add more here soon.

Anger

Do you get angry and then regret saying something you should have not? When we think of anger, we think of the times when we fought with someone or kept silent and suffered. Today while contemplating on anger, I came across a good understanding and I want to share with you. Anger is a form of energy. Agree? Let's throw out the assumption that anger is bad. Sometimes it is required. So proceed with an open mind. Anger may act as a catalyst towards some solution to a life's problem. It acts as motivation. We think anger is wrong whereas it is of 2 types: C onstructive and D estructive. Do we really need anger? Short answers: In career, yes. In relationship, maybe not. We need some kind of anger with problems to find solutions. Otherwise you must have heard about 'chalta hai' attitude in India. Compromise and adjustment: these doesn't need anger. We ignore our problems and our situation gets worse. It is called escapism. Escaping anger with the help of distractions can...

Change

C hanges are good. It teaches you something new. But the catch is: you may not like it. In fact, it's not easy. It needs rewiring of brain cells that further requires personal effort.  Wouldn't it be better if we keep growing? Picture of the month: A few days back I left my home and went on a journey to an unknown destination. Took a train, reached a village and the rest is one of a memorable experience. It sounds naive, but sometimes you have to do what you have to do and it has no explanation. (Do it cautiously though). Personal Rambling: It kind of makes me sad to say that this is the final newsletter. I am so grateful to you for sticking with me and watching me go crazy with words and photos and whatnot. This small initiative was my way of expressing myself and talking/writing to people. Your replies and thoughts and support meant the world to me. Thank you ♡ I have grown in this while and changed as a person for the good—still a work in progress but more disciplined than b...
